Albrecht Dürer

Albrecht Dürer the Younger (1471–1528) was one of the most important draftsmen, painters, and engravers in the history of art. In 1497 he made his first etching followed by the famous etchings »Melencolia«, »Knight, Death and Devil«, »Adam and Eve«, »Hare« and »Squirrel«. During the period of Humanism and the Reformation Dürer achieved worldwide fame through his religious paintings as well as his engravings and etchings.
